History
Consumers Oil Company of Maryville was incorporated on July 25, 1928. It was formed as an opportunity for the local farmers to combine purchases and sales together to get a better price.
In 1929, Consumers Oil Company was one of the original 6 cooperatives to form the former Farmland Industries.
Its original building was in the now Foster Bros contracting building in Maryville. At one time the coop had expanded to 8 branches in Northwest Missouri. With the challenging times in the late 70's and early 80's, all of the branches were closed or sold off.
Consumers Oil Company has a rich history in farming in Northwest Missouri. Today it provides Refined Fuels, Propane, Feed, Tire Service, Grain Merchandising, and Agronomy Services to its members.
